As part of our UNDEFINED project, Ooh St. Lou will be sharing bios of the women featured in the original shoot.
What do you do?
Mid-level administrator, student, music nerd, scifi tweeter, cookist, maker of the occasional art thingy
What prompted you to take part in the UNDEFINED project?
Anger at the Biz Journal, wanting to help a friend with her related project/rebuttal, wanting to speak out.
What stereotyping have you faced in your career, and how have you handled it?
I feel like I get judged because I don’t wear the office uniform, and I can be pretty goofy. Many people I encounter assume “professional” only comes in one package. I’m actually really on top of things most of the time, and I can spreadsheet like a boss. It’s not that I don’t know how to play that role; I choose not to. And I still get things done—amazing, right?
Where can people find out more about you/what you do?
I don’t really have anything to promote, but let’s get together and talk sometime—I like meeting new people!
Anything else we need to know?
I am surrounded by the best people in the history of humans—y’all make me pretty happy most of the time.
The UNDEFINED project explores and is a response to sexism in local media, for more information see our original post on the project. UNDEFINED will be on display at SOHA gallery in January 2017, visit the Facebook event page for more information on the show.
