Get to know Whisk – A Sustainable Bakeshop

Come and visit Whisk!

In September I was lucky enough to sit down with Kaylen Wissinger from Whisk: A Sustainable Bakeshop. I spoke to this Cherokee Street entrepreneur about how her business got its start, her favorite part about her job, and why the concept of “sustainable” is important to her.

The bakery creates new delicacies daily, and almost always has gluten-free and vegan options available. (My favorite are the whoopie pies.) Sourced from local farmers and suppliers – most of whom Kaylen knows personally – the food is fresh and preservative free, meant to be enjoyed the day you purchase it.

The shop space is lovely, full of sunshine and corners to hunker down and enjoy the wifi, or just enjoy the treats.

In the video below will also visit the bakeshop at the Tower Grove Farmer’s market where they have a booth each Saturday, and take a peek into the kitchen while Kaylen is working.
