Experience High Tea at La Patisserie Chouquette

Last weekend was my birthday. 44! (Yeah, I know, I look good. )

I cannot understand people who complain about aging. If you're not aging, you are dead. Shut up and enjoy your actual life.
I cannot understand people who complain about aging. If you’re not aging, you are dead. People I loved would have traded a lot to be able to live to be 45, so shut up with your whining and enjoy your actual life.

To celebrate, I went to La Patisserie Chouquette, located at 1626 Tower Grove Avenue  in St. Louis Mo.

Chouquette (shoo-kett) offers High Tea service on Saturdays at 11 a.m. or 1 p.m.*

I loved it. I felt like I was in The Little Princess, the part where Shirley Temple wakes up and everything has been magically transformed.

I could not find a better picture than this, but you know what I mean.

I felt very lucky to be able to spend an hour in such a decadent fashion, enjoying things for their pure beauty. I recommend it highly.

I hope  you enjoy my video, below.

* The tea they offer would actually be more properly called “Afternoon Tea” in Great Britain. High Tea is actually more of an evening meal, and is more about sustenance than socialization. However I suspect that “High Tea” sounds more fancy to our American ears, and that’s why we use it here. Want to find out more about the distinctions between High Tea and Afternoon Tea? Click here.
